Bob Friese - U.S. Army Air Forces 1942-47

Bob Friese grew up in Fargo North Dakota and joined the U.S. Army Air Forces in 1942 and earned his Wings. He was hoping to be assigned to a combat fighter wing but the Army decided to make him an Instructor to teach other recruits how to fly. He was finally allowed to go overseas after the War and spent the rest of his tour of duty in Occupied Japan. Bob left the Army in 1947 as a first Lieutenant.
