Capt Michael Jett - U.S. Coast Guard 1967-2007
Michael Jett enlisted in the US Coast Guard in June of 1967 at Cape May, NJ. "My first assignment was cleaning heads on the first of nine future cutters. In August of 2007 I retired as a senior Captain, 12th Gold Ancient Mariner and was responsible on many days for over 70-75% of total CG operations in Miami, FL. As a Mustang, I had to rely on others, both senior and junior members, to achieve my professional accomplishments. In particular, as I became a cutter executive officer and captain ,without the support of the crew members of those cutters, my career would not have advanced. They were always there and took that extra step, in particular when in harm's way. They have my highest respect and deepest regard.” - Capt Mike Jett (USCG ret)
