Michael Trotter Jr. - U.S. Army 2003-07
In Iraq, Michael Trotter Jr. had been deemed the weak link by the other soldiers in his infantry unit because of his fear.
Knowing that Michael loved music, an officer led him one day to a piano in one of Saddam Hussein's bombed-out palaces that U.S. troops were using as a Forward Operating Base. There, Michael taught himself to play the instrument and began composing memorial songs for fellow soldiers killed in action. In the process, he learned how music can heal.
After his time in the Army, Michael and his wife Tanya formed the band THE WAR AND TREATY. To learn more about THE WAR AND TREATY visit https://www.thewarandtreaty.com
