Commemorative Air Force  - Airpower History Tour 2023

The mission of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is to Educate, Inspire, and Honor Through Flight and Living History Experiences. USAWS Florida Producer Ross Rowlinson sits down with CAF tour leader Todd Erskine, pilots Curt Lewis & Kevin Price and flight engineer Brad Haskin about the importance of telling veterans stories and their history, to keep it alive.

Todd Erskine, CAF Tour Leader sits down with USAWS Florida Producer Ross Rowlinson to give insight to the history of the Commemorative Air Force “CAF” and what they are all about.

 

Curt Lewis - Pilot for CAF

CAF Pilot Curt Lewis talks about his work with the CAF B29 B24 Squadron and describes the importance of what the CAF does.

 

Brad Haskin: Flight Engineer for CAF

Brad sits down and tells USAWS the history of B24A Liberator "Diamond Lil" and about the connection CAF and his family have. Brad also shares a story of his father having been a B-29 Airman in USAF as well as Educating the next generation to - "KEEP EM FLYING"

 

Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP)

CAF Pilot Kevin Price tells the history of the North American AT-6 plane and its important part in training Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) during WWII.

Kevin also speaks about the continued importance of educating students regarding the CAF and our War Bird History.

 

Todd Erskine describes the importance of teaching WWII history to the next generation

Todd Erskine describes importance of Teaching the next generation and invites local students from Oslo Middle School and their intro to aviation teacher Richard Ballinger to tour the planes.

Todd explains the importance of telling the visiting veterans stories and their history, to keep it alive. CAF’s Mission is to "EDUCATE HONOR & INSPIRE”
