Veterans Awareness Project Art Exhibition

The Islip Arts Council hosts "THEIR STORY: Veterans’ Wellness Project", an exhibition of art created by Military Veterans. Participating artists include John J. Brennan, John P. Cardone, Sean Fitzthum, Carrie Anne Gonzalez, Rosemary Lamb-Mourey, Pat Marino, John Melillo, Angel Ramos and Jesse Williams.

This event also brings together Veteran Service Organizations from across Long Island including Bravo Foxtrot, Warriors Ranch Foundation, United Veterans Beacon House, Cooking for Long Island Veterans and Veterans Yoga Project.

This event also celebrated the PBS premiere of "Walk With Frank" a film about self discovery, mental health, and one man’s journey towards understanding and embracing PTSD.

The Veterans Awareness Project aims to keep the conversation going with Veterans

who are dealing with PTS/PTSD and mental health issues, and homelessness.
