Veterans want to build World War II memorial and stage on Veterans Memorial Island Sanctuary, Vero Beach FL.
The memorial would consist of a permanent, elevated stage, said Vero Beach architect N. Scott Johnson, who donated his time to design the project. "Our goal is to build a tribute to recognize and honor the Greatest Generation. the men and women who served and saved us during WWII," Johnson said. "Our goal is to be an inspiration — a source of inspiration for future leaders."At their Veterans Day 2022 luncheon held at Quail River Club in Vero Beach, Florida, Military Officers Association of America, Indian River County Chapter members and visitors viewed plans to build a World War II tribute on Veterans Memorial Island Sanctuary.
As a military 501-C19, MOAA is limited by the amount of donations it can accept annually, so contributions to the project are being funneled through the Cultural Council of Indian River County. Checks should be made out to CCIRC-WWII Tribute, 1216 21st St., Suite 1, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
