Frank Loglisci - U.S. Navy 1942-46

Jimmy Jackson joined the Army in 2003 right after his 17th birthday and was deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was part of the 2nd Infantry Division,3rd Brigade, 23rd Infantry and stationed mostly in Mosul. After leaving the military in 2007, with the rank of Specialist E4, Jimmy wrestled with PTSD but discovered a new mission by founding a non-profit organization called “Do You Give a Ruck?’ that organizes ruck marches to fundraise for veterans causes and to raise awareness of the problems veterans face adjusting back into civilian life. Frank Loglisci - U.S. Navy 1942-46

Frank Loglisci (1921-2021) , born March 2, 1921. Frank served aboard the USS Caldwell and The USS Gyatt. While serving on the USS Caldwell Frank manned a 40mm gun and served as a baker. While protecting convoys supplying the forces which had landed in the Philippines the Cadwell was hit on the bridge simultaneously by a kamikaze and fragments from a two-bomb straddle, the destroyer suffered 33 killed and 40 wounded including the commanding officer. Despite the heavy damage, Caldwell's after guns continued to fire on enemy planes. Frank passed away at the age of 100 so his story is told by his daughters Diane and Susan.
