Jonathan Banks, U.S. Army & USMC (1979-2014)
Jonathan Banks served in the US Army (1979-1982), the Florida National Guard (1982-1984), and the US Marine Corps (1984-2014). His service included combat deployments include Somalia, Africa in support of Operation Restore Hope, Ar Ramadi, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Rish Kvor, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. His final posting was Training and Education Director, Marine Corps Cannoneer School, Marine Artillery Detachment, Fort Sill, OK until 31 May 2014.
As a lifelong learner, Jonathan earned an AA in General Studies (Summa Cum Laude) from National University, a BA in Business Management (Summa Cum Laude), and an MBA with a concentration in Business Analytics from Golden Gate University. While serving on active duty, he attended numerous military schools and enlisted academies.
Jonathan retired after 30 years of active Marine Corps service on 31 May 2014 as a Master Gunnery Sergeant. He is a staunch advocate for education and networking. Jonathan joined the Marines Memorial team as the Director of Membership Services on 28 December 2022.
