The National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. hosted a major event on September 2, 2025, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of V-J Day, which marked the end of World War II.The commemoration included a "Parade of Heroes" to honor attending World War II veterans, wreath-laying ceremonies, and remarks from representatives of the Friends of the National World War II Memorial and the National Park Service with the keynote speaker Dave Yoho, a WWII Merchant Marine.
