Robert P. Masterson - U.S. Navy 1966-95

Robert (Bob) P. Masterson graduated from college in 1966, entered graduate school for one semester before enlisting and going to Navy Officer Candidate School. He completed Navy Flight School at Pensacola, FL and became an Air Intelligence Officer.

He was assigned to MACV-SOG, a highly-classified joint-service command operating out of South Vietnam. Bob was awarded the Bronze Star with Combat V for Valor, Joint Service Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Navy Achievement Medal, and Presidential Unit Citation.

Bob continued his Navy career by remaining in the Naval Reserves. He participated in the Naval Reserve Intelligence Program for an additional 23 years and retired as a Captain in 1995, after serving as the Commanding Officer of an Intelligence Unit at NAS North Island, CA, with total combined service of 28 years. He is a member of American Legion Post 189 in Sebastian, FL
