Now Available on Amazon Prime Video or Watch it NOW on our website - In 2004 Chris Carney, a bartender at The Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, NY decided to ride his bike for charity. With the support of Talkhouse owner Peter Honerkamp, Talkhouse promoter Nick Kraus and Chris’ friend Tek Vakaloloma,Chris completed a 4200 mile coast-to-coast bicycle ride raising over $1 million in support of Wounded Warrior Project, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to help injured service members aid and assist one another.
Chris’ ride caught the attention of two Iraq War veterans, SSG Heath Calhoun, a double leg amputee and SSG Ryan Kelly, a single leg amputee. Heath and Ryan started planning their own ride and asked Chris to help. In 2005 the three riders began their own unforgettable coast-to-coast ride. Soldier Ride begins connecting veterans to the communities that they have sacrificed so much for.
This film was produced and directed by Matt Hindra and Nick Kraus in 2014. While Matt and Nick traveled around the country screen the film it became obvious that there were many other Veteran stories across America that needed to be recorded and shared so in 2017 we created USA Warrior Stories, a a Not-For-Profit organization designed to record, archive and share videos of Veteran stories online to help Veterans make a connection with one another and to help us all better understand their sacrifices for our freedom.
