Marc Richard – U.S. Army 1980-89

Jimmy Jackson joined the Army in 2003 right after his 17th birthday and was deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was part of the 2nd Infantry Division,3rd Brigade, 23rd Infantry and stationed mostly in Mosul. After leaving the military in 2007, with the rank of Specialist E4, Jimmy wrestled with PTSD but discovered a new mission by founding a non-profit organization called “Do You Give a Ruck?’ that organizes ruck marches to fundraise for veterans causes and to raise awareness of the problems veterans face adjusting back into civilian life. Marc Richard attended West Point from 1976-80 and received his commission in 1980. He is both Airborne and Ranger qualified. Marc's first deployment was as an Infantry Platoon leader and Battalion S2 Officer providing security for the Persian Missiles in Germany. Marc left the military in 1989 with the rank of Captain and moved to Vero Beach, FL where he works with a local non-profit to help send Holiday packages to active duty service men and women.
