American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces

Since it’s beginning in 1881, the American Red Cross has been providing services to members of the military and their families. Today the Service to Armed Forces continues that mission. Volunteers serve in hospitals, help get emergency messages to and from family members, and in some cases deploy alongside our military in oversea missions. They continue to help veterans and their families after their service has ended.

He picked the Navy because he wanted to serve on a carrier and he says he liked the uniform. He did over a hundred combat missions in Vietnam before leaving the Navy and then taking a job with American Airlines as a pilot.
