David Traill - IB History Professor Suncoast Community High School, FL
David Traill is an IB history teacher at Suncoast Community High School in Riviera Beach, Florida. David makes a point to teach his students about events of the past using artifacts that connect students to history as well as introducing them to veterans and finding ways to encourage students to volunteer in ways that help veterans. Whether it is working to support Honor Flight with his students, taking students to see places where history happened, or looking for artifacts to tell stories about their owners and what they went through, he hopes to make history come alive and for his students to see that history is not just some thing on a printed page.

When he was 12 years old, Art Culver started to make models of airplanes and fell in love with flying. He applied to both the Air Force and Navy after he got out of school and was accepted by both. He picked the Navy because he wanted to serve on a carrier and he says he liked the uniform. He did over a hundred combat missions in Vietnam before leaving the Navy and then taking a job with American Airlines as a pilot.
