Sylvester McIntosh served with the 1st Battalion 9th Marines, better known as the Walking Dead. During his tour of duty in Vietnam, McIntosh threw himself on three grenades, which were luckily duds.

When people ask us, “what’s the most incredible story a Veteran has ever told you”, we usually mention Jim Blaylock telling us about being tossed in a body bag after being mistaken for dead.
"It was getting a bit warm and stuffy but it wasn’t long before we reached the mortuary and I was put on the cooler tray. This month we remember Phil Keith who passed away March 10, 2021. We got to know Phil while interviewing him in 2019. After doing our initial interview we invited Phil to participate in our SiriusXM special hosted by Alec Baldwin. Phil was not only a decorated Vietnam veteran, but a talented published writer and a wonderful man. He will be missed.

Winston Elliott Scott served as a Naval pilot and flew helicopters and navy planes. Scott was selected by NASA in March 1992, and reported to the Johnson Space Center in August 1992. He served as a mission specialist on STS-72 in 1996 and STS-87 in 1997, and logged a total of 24 days, 14 hours and 34 minutes in space.
